The process of getting a dnsops.gov or dnsops.biz delegation is not difficult. There are only a few basic requirements depending on the TLD being requested.
For dnsops.gov, the requester must be from one of the following:
Please refer to current eligibility requirements for obtaining a .gov delegation to make sure you qualify. The same basic requirements to obtain a delegation in the .gov TLD apply to the dnsops.gov domain as well.
For dnsops.biz, the requester should meet one or more of the following:
Check if the desired name is available or already taken:
Simply fill out the form below to request a desired delegation. The request will be forwarded to the SNIP administration team who will notify you (via email) when the delegation has been successfully added. Please note that the fields marked Required must be filled in.
Delegations in DNS consist of name servers (the domain name of the server) and glue (an address of some sort, either IPv4 or IPv6). It is recommended to have at least two name servers for every delegation for redundancy. If you desire more than three name servers, please email the SNIP administrator with the additional name server information.
Please also provide the name of the point of contact and an email address where they can be reached. This email address is the one that will be used to send the confirmation after the delegation has been added, as well as used to contact if there is a problem.
The Delegation Signer (DS) Record information is not necessary to start the registration process, but it will be required to obtain a delegation. Administrators can either send the DS RR (or keyset) to the SNIP administrator or alert the SNIP administrator that the delegation is signed and they will generate and add the DS RR to the dnsops.gov or dnsops.biz zone.
